Russian State Duma says war against Ukraine must end with Russia’s "absolute victory" by 2030
Viktor Sobolev, a member of the Russian State Duma Committee on Defence, claimed that the war against Ukraine must end with an "absolute victory" for Russian forces by 2030.
His remarks were quoted by Russian media, Censor.NET reports.
Statement on timeline for ending war
According to Sobolev, Ukraine must be forced to capitulate before Poland and other NATO countries are ready for war with Russia. He named Germany, France, Britain, Belgium, Norway, Finland and Sweden among those countries, claiming that they allegedly seek to inflict a "strategic defeat" on Russia. The MP claimed that European countries were actively preparing their populations for war with Russia.
"By that time, by 2030, we must completely conclude the special military operation in Ukraine. Conclude it, as the President said, with the victory of our armed forces — an absolute victory," he added.
Preparations for possible war with other countries
- Sobolev also hinted that Moscow was preparing for war with other countries if it gained control of Ukraine.
"The armed forces will need to be restructured so that they are ready to repel aggression by any geopolitical adversary in any strategic direction and under any conditions," the Russian State Duma member added.
