France to accelerate deliveries of interceptor missiles to Ukraine – Macron
France is accelerating deliveries of air defence missiles to Ukraine and transferring licences for their production.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced this during a Coalition of the Willing meeting, which he attended by video link, Censor.NET reports.
Assistance to Kyiv
Macron recalled that interceptor missiles were being supplied through the missile defence coalition established on July 13.
"We have the French-led coalition, as well as the coalition launched on July 13 to counter ballistic missiles. We must accelerate their delivery. France will accelerate its work, and we will also step up our cooperation with our colleagues on transferring licences so that we have the ability and capacity to produce the relevant systems independently. But there is clearly now a shortage of interceptor missiles, which are unquestionably vital to people’s lives," he added.
Pressure on Russia
The French President separately stressed the importance of supporting Ukraine’s energy sector ahead of winter. According to him, Paris would do everything possible to help Ukraine prepare for the winter.
- The French leader mentioned Russia’s attempts to carry out sabotage against European countries to force them to abandon their support for Ukraine. He urged them to remain calm and continue supporting Kyiv.
- The French President also stressed the need to intensify efforts against Russia’s "shadow fleet" and proposed convening a ministerial-level meeting on the issue.
