On the night of September 21, Ukrainian drones struck bunkers and hangars at the Tsymbulovo drone base in Russia’s Oryol region, the main Russian base used to launch jet-powered Geran UAVs against Ukraine.

As Censor.NET reports, the Absolutely Reliable OSINT channel published satellite images from September 21 showing the aftermath of the strikes.

Some of the drones penetrated the bunkers. Several hits involving detonations and damage to hangars were also recorded, while wreckage from destroyed UAVs was detected at the launch preparation site.

The strikes were probably carried out using jet-powered UAVs and Neptune missiles.

Background

The Tsymbulovo droneport is a large Russian military complex near the village of the same name in the Oryol region, designed to store and launch attack UAVs.
Its construction began in August 2024, and according to investigators, the first launches may have taken place as early as the autumn of that year.
By 2026, the complex had been significantly expanded: satellite images show numerous launch positions, storage facilities and other infrastructure, including facilities for Geran-4 and Geran-5 drones.
