Drone attack on Russia: Kuibyshev Oil Refinery in Samara Region is on fire. VIDEO+PHOTO
On the night of 22 September, drones attacked the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery in the Samara Region of Russia. Following the explosions, a major fire broke out on the refinery’s premises.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by Russian Telegram channels and OSINT communities.
According to reports from local residents on social media, explosions were heard in the vicinity of the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery during the night, preceded by the characteristic sound of drones in flight. One of the videos circulating online shows intense flames and a thick plume of smoke rising above the refinery site.

The Samara Region authorities and emergency services have not yet reported on the consequences of the attack or any potential damage to the facility.
The Kuibyshev Oil Refinery: what is known?
The Kuibyshev Oil Refinery is located in the Kuibyshev district of Samara and is part of the Russian oil company Rosneft.
The facility produces:
- petrol and diesel fuel;
- aviation kerosene;
- fuel oil;
- bitumen;
- other petroleum products.
The plant’s design capacity is approximately 7 million tonnes of crude oil processing per year.
The Kuibyshev refinery has previously been targeted by drone attacks.
