Ukraine is ready for complete ceasefire, says Sybiha, who has called on Russia to do same
Ukraine’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, stated that Ukraine had agreed to a full, immediate, and unconditional ceasefire and called on Russia to do the same.
According to Censor.NET, this is stated in a statement by the Foreign Minister.
Sybiha stated that Ukraine was ready for a ceasefire
According to Sybiha, Kyiv has consistently demonstrated its willingness to cease hostilities and has repeatedly reaffirmed this position at the international level.
"Ukraine has agreed to a full, immediate and unconditional ceasefire. We call on Russia to finally do the same," wrote the Foreign Secretary.
Sybiha had previously emphasised that Ukraine was ready for an unconditional ceasefire on land, at sea and in the air.
Kyiv has set out the conditions for further negotiations
Ukraine is making the start of further negotiations conditional on the establishment of a complete ceasefire and the implementation of humanitarian measures.
Specifically, this concerns the return of Ukrainian prisoners of war, civilian hostages and deported children.
Sybiha also stated that Ukraine remains committed to diplomacy and is striving for a comprehensive and lasting peace. At the same time, Kyiv insists on its principled positions regarding Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that Russia’s war against Ukraine is no longer about victory for either side, but about bringing the fighting to a halt in order to save lives.
