Ministry of Defense has approved supply of Varkhan ground robot to Ukrainian Armed Forces: it can carry hundreds of kilograms of cargo
Drone Industry
The Ministry of Defense has codified and approved the Varkhan ground-based robotic system (UGV) for delivery to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET, this was announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
It is designed to carry out a wide range of military logistics missions: the delivery of weapons, ammunition, gear, equipment, and so on.
Tactical and Technical Specifications (TTS) of the Varkhan Unmanned Ground Vehicle
The Varkhan unmanned ground vehicle was manufactured at a Ukrainian defense plant in response to requests from the military, which needed appropriate equipment to carry out logistical tasks. Engineers incorporated all of the military’s requirements into the design.
The Varkhan ground-based robotic platform is as versatile, reliable, and durable as possible. It is built on an all-wheel-drive chassis with a 4×4 wheelbase, independent suspension, and ground clearance of over 200 mm. The design ensures excellent off-road capability and allows the system to navigate confidently across challenging terrain, including rough off-road conditions, quagmires, and sand.
The platform is equipped with quick-release batteries, enabling it to carry out missions continuously.
Strengths of the Varkhan complex on the battlefield
The Varkhan ground-based robotic complex has demonstrated high tactical and technical performance during testing. It has more than enough capacity to transport hundreds of kilograms of cargo over several dozen kilometers. In addition, the Varkhan robotic complex is equipped with several communication and control systems.
The Varkhan system meets the demands of modern high-intensity warfare:
- continuous operation;
- reliable, durable components and assemblies;
- intuitive control algorithm;
- availability of spare parts and consumables;
- high tactical and technical performance;
- extensive logistics capabilities;
- ease of maintenance.
The Varkhan UGV is part of an ecosystem of integrated solutions. It includes T-Bone ground control stations, antennas, masts, repeaters, and rotation mechanisms.
The combination of these products makes it possible to develop comprehensive solutions for controlling unmanned systems and ensuring stable communications.
As a reminder, the Ministry of Defense previously codified the "Zmii Mini-Strike" reconnaissance and strike UGV. It was designed in collaboration with engineers from one of the most effective combat brigades of the Defense Forces and manufactured based on more than four years of wartime experience and an analysis of the combat use of ground-based drones on the battlefield.
