Russian strike on Kyiv: warehouses belonging to ’Knyholav’ publishing house have been destroyed. PHOTO
A Russian night-time attack resulted in the complete destruction of the warehouses belonging to the ‘Knygolav’ publishing house in the Podilskyi district of Kyiv. In addition, the company’s new warehouse, where products recovered following the previous shelling had been stored, was also damaged.
This was reported by Censor.NET, citing a post by the publishing house.
They noted that on the night of 7 October, Russia launched another terrorist missile strike.
"As a result of the attack, the warehouse premises in Podil were destroyed. Our new warehouse, where ‘Knygolav’ books—which we had restored following the first strike in July—were stored, has, unfortunately, also sustained significant damage. At present, we are unable to definitively assess the extent of the losses or calculate the number of books that have been destroyed or are beyond repair, but we can say with certainty that tens of thousands of books have been lost. We will only be able to assess the final losses once we have full access to the warehouse and have carried out a detailed assessment of the condition of all the books," the statement reads.
Most importantly, all staff are alive and unharmed!
"This is a significant blow for us. These are the books we created, printed and prepared for you. New releases that we managed to receive over the past two months, reprints of the books that Russia destroyed in July at our previous warehouse – books we were all looking forward to seeing restored together with you. But despite everything, we’re holding on! We will continue to work, restore what has been lost and do everything possible to keep delighting you with new books. Your support, understanding and patience are particularly important to us right now," concludes "Knygolav".
