EU provides €1.24 billion for Ukraine’s defence needs

Ukraine has received a new tranche under the defence component of the Ukraine Support Loan programme. This will not only strengthen our capabilities on the battlefield but also generate additional orders for Ukraine’s defence industry.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defence’s press service, according to Censor.NET.

Funds will go towards drones, interceptors and missiles

The programme provides for a total of up to €90 billion in support for Ukraine in 2026–2027. Almost €60 billion of this amount is earmarked for defence needs.

In 2026, €28.3 billion is planned to be allocated to developing Ukraine’s defence industrial capacity. Including the new tranche, almost €13 billion has been received.

The Ministry of Defence thanked European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius and EU member states for their consistent support for Ukraine.
