Public transport operations in Kramatorsk and Sloviansk are being suspended due to security situation, - Regional Military Administration

Public transport services are being suspended in Kramatorsk and Sloviansk

Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, ordered the Kramatorsk and Sloviansk city military administrations to suspend public transportation services due to a sharp deterioration in the security situation.

He announced this on his Telegram channel, according to Censor.NET.

The safety of residents comes first

"The Russians are deliberately targeting civilians. For them, a bus full of passengers is an attractive target precisely because a single strike can kill as many people as possible."

"Further proof of this is today's tragedy in Kramatorsk, where the Russians killed 30 people and wounded 18 more in an instant," he said.

Filashkin emphasized that Russia deliberately flouts all rules of warfare and norms of international humanitarian law. It selects targets where it can inflict the most suffering on civilians.

"Under these circumstances, we cannot risk the lives of passengers and drivers. The safety of the residents of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk is our top priority right now.

"I ask for your understanding regarding this decision. It is a necessary step dictated by the enemy's behavior, for whom civilian transportation has become yet another way to kill Ukrainians," he added.

What led up to it

As a reminder, today Russian occupiers struck buses with a KAB bomb in Kramatorsk, killing 30 people and wounding 18 others.
