All necessary services and heavy engineering equipment worked for more than a day and a half at the site of the Russian missile strike in Pryluky, Chernihiv region.

What is known

He said that today, together with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, they honored the memory of the 22 people killed in the Russian strike.

"It was a direct missile hit on the building; one and a half sections were destroyed. I briefed the President of Ukraine on the progress of work to deal with the aftermath of the strike, during which 15 people were rescued from the rubble," the minister said.

Residents allowed to collect personal belongings

He said that residents had already been allowed to return to their damaged homes to collect personal belongings. Rescuers are ensuring that this is safe.

Police have already received more than 350 reports of damaged or destroyed property. In total, more than 120 apartment buildings and private houses, as well as five educational institutions, were damaged in the city.

Today, 100 State Emergency Service cadets arrived in Pryluky from Cherkasy after volunteering to help residents carry out initial repairs to their homes.

Shelter inspections

In addition, a comprehensive inspection of the condition of shelters in the city will begin tomorrow. The relevant instructions are being prepared.

"At a time when Russia deliberately strikes residential buildings, shopping centers and facilities essential to the community, shelters must be in proper condition and accessible to people," the minister stressed.
