Emergency power outages introduced again in Kyiv and region due to Russian attack

An emergency power outage occurred in Kyiv on the evening of October 8 as a result of a Russian attack.

"Kyiv and Kyiv region: An emergency power outage also occurred due to the enemy attack. Schedules temporarily do not apply. Energy workers are already working on site," the company added.
Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said that an attack had targeted an energy facility important to Kyiv.
"Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power quickly. The Russian drone attack is ongoing. All services are involved," he wrote.
Meanwhile, Ukrenergo reported that several components of the electricity grid supplying Kyiv had gone offline as a result of enemy shelling. This caused power supply disruptions affecting a large number of consumers in some districts of the capital.

- Some public transport services in Kyiv have been suspended due to a loss of voltage in the power system, the Kyiv City State Administration said. Arrangements are being made to provide buses along the Borshchahivka high-speed tram route to transport passengers.
