Ukrainian delegation to meet Witkoff and Kushner in US – Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that European partners will join Ukraine's negotiating team, which will be in the United States on October 9–10. A meeting with US special envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff is expected.

He told reporters this, Censor.NET reports.

Who will represent Ukraine

Zelenskyy said that the negotiating team will include Servant of the People parliamentary faction leader Davyd Arakhamia, Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Rustem Umerov, Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov and his first deputy Serhii Kyslytsia.

"The meeting is expected to last two days. We are also counting on a European team to join our and the American negotiating teams," the head of state said.

Topics for discussion

During the talks, the delegation will also separately discuss "details on securing funding sooner" and strengthening air defenses with European partners.

"For my part, I also spoke today with President (of the European Council — ed.) António Costa about the same pressing issues. We hope for a positive outcome. We are also communicating not only with European partners but with Asian partners as well," the president said.

According to Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian delegation is expected to return to Kyiv from the United States on the morning of October 12, after which details of the negotiations will become known.

  • As a reminder, in early September, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia could take place as early as this autumn.
