Train traffic on Kyiv metro has been halted due to lack of power. Public transport is not running in several districts (updated)

In Kyiv, a person was struck by a metro train

Train services and the operation of escalators on the Kyiv Metro have been temporarily suspended. This was caused by a power cut resulting from a loss of power from external power supply centres.

This was reported by Censor.NET, citing the Kyiv City State Administration’s press office.

Initial details

"Due to a loss of power from external power supply centres, train services and escalator operations in the metro have been temporarily suspended. We will provide further updates on the resumption of services," the statement reads.

Earlier, there were reports of an emergency power cut in Pivdenna Borshchahivka due to an attack by the Russian Federation.

Updated Information

What led up to this?

  • It was previously reported that public transport had been suspended in three districts of Kyiv due to a power cut.
