In September and October, Defence Forces struck eight enemy ballistic missile launchers, - Khmara

In September and early October, the Ukrainian Defence Forces struck eight launchers that the enemy had been using for ballistic strikes.

This was announced by Ukraine’s Defence Minister Yevhen Khmara during a briefing with journalists, according to Censor.NET, citing "Ukrinform".

Shortage of air defence/missile defence systems

"The threat of ballistic strikes remains critical. Existing and potential supplies of missiles for anti-ballistic defence are insufficient to fully counter this threat. The Ministry of Defence is working with partners to speed up the delivery of the necessary missiles," said the minister.

He noted that rather than waiting for large, long-term contracts, it is necessary to identify available stocks held by partners as quickly as possible and expedite their transfer to Ukraine.

"We need tens and hundreds of missiles, not one-off deliveries," said Khmara.

Asymmetric response by the Defence Forces

According to him, Ukraine is simultaneously employing an asymmetric response — striking Russian launchers. Thus, in September and early October, the Defence Forces struck eight launchers used for ballistic strikes.

"Three were destroyed and five were damaged. Such strikes have already forced the enemy to cancel or alter planned ballistic attacks," said the Defence Minister.
