Peskov commented on Trump’s remarks regarding change of government in Ukraine
Dmitry Peskov, the Russian President’s press secretary, has commented on US President Donald Trump’s remarks regarding the need for a new Ukrainian president. According to him, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is allegedly failing to demonstrate the political will to end the war.
As reported by Censor.NET, the Kremlin spokesperson made these remarks in a comment to the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti.
"Trump said that he believes the time has come for a new president. Why? Because the President of Ukraine must take very responsible and very difficult decisions to end this war.
Either Zelenskyy takes on this responsibility and demonstrates this political will, or he does not. So far, he has not done so," Peskov said.
What led up to this?
The day before, US President Donald Trump stated that he believes it is time for Ukraine to elect a new leader who will be capable of reaching agreements to end the war.
