SSU has exposed yet another woman from Kyiv who ’gave away’ capital’s air defence positions on Telegram. VIDEO+PHOTOS

Cyber experts from the Security Service have detained another Kyiv resident who photographed and shared images of Ukrainian air defence positions online.

This was reported by Censor.NET, citing the SSU press centre.

Details

The investigation revealed that the woman had sent photos of the Defence Forces’ locations to the administrator of a local Telegram channel and to her acquaintances.

Soon afterwards, these photos were ‘picked up’ by Kremlin propagandists, who began using them to justify Russian attacks on Kyiv.

This is the third person in a week whom the SSU has caught ‘leaking’ information about the Defence Forces in the capital.

According to the case file, the detainee is an employee of a cleaning company who filmed the positions of the Ukrainian air defence forces on her mobile phone through the windscreen of her own car whilst driving through the city.

An expert assessment commissioned by the SSU confirmed that harm had been caused to Ukraine’s national security as a result of the public dissemination of classified information about the Defence Forces.

Investigators from the Security Service have now informed the suspect of the charges against her: the unauthorised disclosure of information regarding the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, enabling their identification on the ground, committed whilst martial law was in force.

The suspect faces up to 8 years’ imprisonment.

The Security Service once again urges citizens not to take or share photos and videos of enemy attacks. In particular, do not publish content showing the locations of air defence systems, their operational activities, or Russian attacks on military facilities and critical infrastructure in Ukraine.
