Ukraine is changing security measures for energy facilities ahead of winter, - Koretskyi

Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi has stated that Ukraine is adapting the defence of its energy infrastructure to the new tactics employed in Russian attacks as it prepares for winter.
This was stated in a post by Koretskyi on Telegram, according to Censor.NET.
Water supply and backup power are the top priorities
Preparations for winter were discussed during a working session of the Coordination Platform for Humanitarian Response under the Office of the President. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Office of the President and the National Security and Defence Council, ambassadors from the largest humanitarian aid donors, and representatives of the European Union and international organisations.
"The top priority right now is water supply and backup power. We are also adapting the protection of energy facilities to the enemy’s new tactics," emphasised Koretskyi.
According to the Prime Minister, thanks to international support, schools, medical facilities and other social infrastructure already have backup power supplies.
Plans for the winter will be coordinated with partners
Koretskyi emphasised the need to promptly update the humanitarian response plans of the state and international partners. These must be coordinated and take into account a shared assessment of threats.
"The humanitarian response plans of the state and its partners must be updated promptly, be synchronised and be based on a shared assessment of threats, particularly for major cities and Kyiv," the Prime Minister noted.
Earlier, MP Dmytro Kostyuk warned of the risk of the heating season being disrupted in dozens of Ukrainian cities due to the unresolved issue of debts owed by heat supply companies, legal claims by Naftogaz and the freezing of bank accounts. According to him, the government has failed to resolve the situation, which has been building up since 2021, and there are only a few days left before the start of the heating season.
