Consequences of Russian attack on Kyiv: 4 dead, over 20 injured, strikes in several districts. VIDEO+PHOTOS
Three people have been killed as a result of Russian shelling of Kyiv; clean-up operations are ongoing in three districts of the capital.
This was reported by Censor.NET, citing the State Emergency Service press centre.
Strike on a high-rise building
In particular, it is noted that at the site of the enemy strike on a high-rise building in the Desnianskyi district, firefighters extinguished a fire covering an area of 400 square metres.
The number of casualties is rising, and people continue to seek help. The bodies of two people who died have been recovered.
Sixteen residents of the building were rescued. Twenty-one people were injured, including one child. Emergency rescue operations are ongoing. Psychologists from the Main Directorate are working at the scene and have already provided support to 110 people.
Other consequences of the attack
At another address in the Dniprovskyi district, a fire broke out in a disused building following a second attack.
Firefighters extinguished a fire on the grass at a stadium in the Darnytskyi district.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a minor fire broke out after a single-storey disused building was hit. The fire was quickly extinguished.
There was also a strike on a non-residential building in the Holosiivskyi district. Unfortunately, one person was killed and another injured.
Updated information
According to the Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office, as of 8:50 a.m., three women were killed and 19 others were injured in the Desnianskyi District as a result of the Russian Federation’s evening attack on the capital. Among the victims is a 7-year-old girl who suffered cuts and burns to her hand.
The fire damaged apartments on floors 1 through 8 of a 9-story building. Windows were also shattered in a nearby building, injuring 5 people.
Overnight and this morning, Russian forces continued to strike the capital. One person was killed in the Holosiivskyi district, and another was injured.
The final number of victims is currently being determined.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into yet another war crime committed by Russian military forces (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
What led up to this?
- It was previously reported that the enemy was launching ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv, the Kyiv region and Kharkiv.
- Later, Klitschko stated that Russian forces had struck a number of energy facilities in Kyiv.
