On Wednesday, 14 October, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham, in London.

Zelenskyy shared details of the meeting on social media, according to Censor.NET.

Russia is trying to exploit problems with Starlink in Ukraine

"I briefed Andy in detail on Russian attacks on our cities, people and critical infrastructure. There have been waves of drone attacks throughout the day and night. Russia launched 124 drones overnight alone and another 145 during the day. And there are still more than 40 Shaheds in our skies right now. Energy infrastructure, logistics and railways are under attack. A significant proportion of the drones were shot down, but there have also been hits. In terms of scale, this is one of the largest attacks," the head of state said.

According to Zelenskyy, Russia is trying to exploit problems with Starlink in Ukraine to launch massive drone attacks.

"Because the operation of interceptor drones depends heavily on this connection," the president said.

Strengthening Ukraine’s air defence

He stressed that it is now important to strengthen air defences and provide Ukraine with everything it needs to protect lives.

"Today, a decision has been made to expedite the delivery of British air defence equipment to Ukraine to counter jet-powered Shaheds. And I am very grateful for this timely and much-needed assistance. Thank you to Andy, the people of the United Kingdom, the government and His Majesty for their solidarity and support for our country during this brutal Russian war," the head of state added.
