Poland has provided aid to Ukraine, the details of which have not been disclosed, and which is intended to help protect Kyiv from large-scale Russian attacks.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned this at the start of his meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the sidelines of the EU summit in Brussels, reports Censor.NET, citing Radio Free Europe.

What Tusk said

In greeting the Ukrainian president, the Polish prime minister assured him that Ukraine could count on the support of Poland and the European Union.

"I would like to assure Ukraine, your people and you personally – you are not alone… you can count on me, on Poland, and also on the EU. Following my talks here in Brussels with all the leaders, it is absolutely clear that anything that could help Putin and Russia in this war is unacceptable to Europe and Poland," Tusk stated.

Aid to Ukraine

  • Zelenskyy thanked Poland for its support "in a political and geopolitical sense, and on many other issues".
  • He also emphasised that Kyiv had received undisclosed assistance from Warsaw, which is intended to help protect the capital from Russian attacks.

"What you have done… Well, sometimes this should remain between the two of us," said the president, responding to the Polish prime minister’s gesture.

He added that it is very difficult for Ukraine to defend the country and its capital against massive attacks.

"And we are grateful for that, as well as for the 20-millimetre ammunition and other supplies. This is precisely what we are currently asking various countries, indeed the whole of Europe, for," Zelenskyy stated.

The President did not disclose exactly what this entails. At the same time, it is known that Ukraine is currently asking all states to provide interceptors capable of repelling ballistic attacks.
