A report has been published online about a Russian soldier who took his own life by shooting himself with an assault rifle to avoid being taken prisoner by the Ukrainians.
According to Censor.NET, the authors of the report claim that Russian occupiers are instructed to commit suicide if there is a risk of being taken prisoner.
According to them, one of the Russian soldiers decided to follow these orders and shot himself with his service assault rifle.
The authors of the article noted ironically that the Russian command allegedly goes to great lengths to explain to its subordinates the need to avoid capture at the cost of their own lives, yet fails to provide them with shortened assault rifles.
"The attempt was made immediately, but fate decreed otherwise. Russian occupiers have been thoroughly instructed to take their own lives by shooting themselves in the temple to avoid capture. However, their command did not bother to provide personnel with shortened assault rifles suitable for such purposes," reads the commentary on the video.
