Ukraine is not No. 1 priority for Patriot missile allocation – Zelenskyy. VIDEO

President Zelenskyy reported a significant shortage of PAC-2/PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems: most US missiles have been supplied to the Middle East for a long time, so Ukraine is not the top priority for their allocation.

He made the remarks during a briefing in Brussels, Censor.NET reports.

Details

"We receive PAC-2/PAC-3 missiles from the United States through the PURL programme. Europe funds this; it is not free; these are not gifts. There is currently a major shortage, and most of these missiles have been going to the Middle East for a long time. We are not the number one priority for PAC-2/PAC-3 allocation," the president said.

At the same time, the head of state expressed gratitude for the number of missiles Ukraine is able to receive through PURL.

"We receive them not only from the United States. We work with Europe and other countries around the world. And we gather them in batches of 2, 5, 10 — however many we can negotiate. That is how many we deliver to Ukraine to protect people, infrastructure and the energy sector," Zelenskyy added.

Background

  • Zelenskyy previously reported that Ukraine had received one-third as many air defence missiles from its partners this year as in 2025, with hostilities in the Middle East cited as the official reason.
  • The Financial Times reported that Trump had refused to provide 300 Patriot missiles to preserve US stockpiles amid the war against Iran. According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine needs 100–120 Patriot missiles per month during the winter.
