Fighters from "Liut" brigade carried civilian to safety after evacuation UGV was blown up by Russian landmine. VIDEO

Soldiers from the ‘Safari’ regiment of the National Police’s ‘Liut’ brigade evacuated an injured civilian man and his wife from one of the villages near Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region.

According to Censor.NET, whilst clearing the road following Russian shelling, a local woman approached the Ukrainian defenders asking for help for her husband, who had been wounded the previous day as a result of an attack by an enemy FPV drone and was unable to move unaided.

The following day, the soldiers returned for the couple with a ground-based robotic system. The wounded man was placed on the platform, whilst his wife walked alongside the evacuation team.

During the evacuation, the robotic system struck a Russian landmine that had been placed on the road and was rendered inoperable. The man was unharmed, but the Ukrainian defenders had to carry him the rest of the way.

The couple were eventually taken to Kramatorsk and handed over to medics from the ‘Shield of Life’ service for further treatment.
