The official noted that this building was an important part of Kramatorsk’s history.

The building’s historical significance

Goncharenko recalled that the building survived the Russian occupation in 2014, as well as the assaults and events surrounding the liberation of Kramatorsk.

"This place held history, the spirit of engineering, revolutions, the life of the city and its plans. It is the foundation of Ukrainian Kramatorsk. They can destroy the building, burn our land and steal our memories. But they cannot destroy our right to a future," he wrote.
