On November 2, Russian aircraft dropped guided bombs on the village. The first strikes hit a local school building. Classes were not in session there, but the building was being used as a humanitarian aid distribution center—every Monday, aid was distributed to local residents there.

When emergency services arrived at the site of the first strike and people had taken shelter in the bomb shelter, the enemy launched a second strike with nine more aerial bombs, targeting the shelter directly.
