Ukraine plans to open all negotiation chapters on accession to the European Union by the end of 2026, and expects to provisionally close seven chapters in the first half of 2027.
According to Censor.NET, this was mentioned in a post by Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi on his Telegram channel.
Ukraine is preparing to open the remaining negotiation clusters
"In the first half of 2027, during Lithuania's presidency of the EU Council, we expect seven chapters to be provisionally closed," Koretsky wrote.
This was discussed during the Euronews Enlargement Summit. Participants discussed Ukraine’s progress on the various negotiation chapters, particularly in the areas of financial services, energy, agriculture, customs, and digital transformation.
Judicial reform and the fight against corruption remain priorities
The first cluster, "Fundamentals of the EU Accession Process," remains a key focus of the negotiations. It covers judicial reform, the fight against corruption, and public administration reform.
To accelerate progress toward meeting the interim benchmarks in this area, Ukraine, together with the European Commission, has established a special task force.
Koretsky thanked European partners for their support of Ukraine's path toward European integration.
