Power cut in Zhytomyr: enemy attacked energy infrastructure

DTEK has announced the return of power cut schedules in Kyiv

The city of Zhytomyr was left completely without power following a Russian strike on 3 November. The local community is preparing to set up resilience centres.

This was reported by Zhytomyr City Council and covered by "Suspilne", as reported by Censor.NET.

What’s the situation with the power?

"The enemy has attacked the energy infrastructure. If the power supply is not restored by morning, resilience centres will be set up in the Zhytomyr community tomorrow, 4 November, from 9.00 am," the city council said.

The addresses of the resilience centres can be found on the Zhytomyr City Council website and via this link.

Journalists from Suspilne report that the power has gone out completely in Zhytomyr, and some areas of the region are also without electricity.

What happened earlier:

  • From the evening of 3 November, tram and trolleybus services in Kyiv have been temporarily suspended due to a critical situation in the power grid caused by Russian shelling.
  • Ukrenergo reported that Russian occupiers have been relentlessly striking Ukraine’s energy facilities since last night. The company emphasised that this is one of the largest-scale attacks.
