U.S. Senate Democratic Leader Schumer to Americans: Relief is on way
Senate Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer declared his party's victory while commenting on the initial results of the U.S. midterm congressional elections. According to preliminary counts, the Republican Party is losing control of the upper chamber.
His remarks were quoted by CNN, as reported by Censor.NET with reference to "European Pravda."
The Democrats' initial reaction
According to preliminary results, the Democrats have already secured 51 seats in the Senate—a slim majority. The Republican Party currently holds 39 seats, as votes from many states are still coming in.
"Despite all the predictions, we Democrats have won the Senate, and we have a few words for the American people: relief is on the way," Schumer said.
He noted that the Democrats had sparked a powerful "blue wave" by listening to what people were saying in various states across the country.
"We listened to them, and they spoke first and foremost about high prices, chaos, and corruption," he said.
Schumer called the election results "a once-in-a-generation redrawing of the Senate map" and noted that now "Democrats must live up to expectations."

The first results are expected on the night of November 4, Kyiv time.
- Early results indicate that Democrats are leading Republicans in the U.S. congressional elections.
- Trump has already stated that if his name had been on the ballot, the Republicans would have won by a landslide.
