NSDC has imposed sanctions on eight collaborators in occupied Crimea; one of them is collecting aid for Russian forces in Kherson region

The NSDC has imposed sanctions against eight collaborators in Crimea

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has imposed sanctions on eight individuals who, according to the investigation, are helping Russia maintain its occupation in Crimea. Among them are representatives of the illegal administration of Yalta who have been involved in supporting Russian military forces and organizing illegal elections.

This was reported by the SBU Office in Lviv Oblast, according to Censor.NET.

According to the investigation, all eight voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the occupying forces, joined the Crimean branch of the Russian party "United Russia," and assumed positions in the illegal authorities.

Under the guise of their work as deputies, they participated in organizing and conducting illegal elections on the occupied peninsula, helping the Kremlin create the appearance of legitimacy for the occupation administration.

In particular, the so-called deputy chairman of the Yalta City Council is organizing a relief drive for a Russian military unit fighting against Ukraine in the Kherson region.

Another suspect heads an illegal committee on education, science, culture, maternal and child welfare, youth, and sports within the occupation-controlled Yalta City Council. According to the SSU, he promotes the spread of Russian cultural narratives among Crimean youth through the education system.

Law enforcement officials have charged the suspects with collaboration and aiding an aggressor state under Part 5 of Article 111-1 and Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

One of the collaborators has already been convicted in absentia.

The illegal activities were documented by operatives of the SSU Directorate in the Lviv region, in cooperation with investigators from the SBU Main Directorate in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol.
