Events in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka: three organisers served notices of suspicion – SSU. PHOTOS

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has detained and served notices of suspicion on three organisers of the unrest that took place in the settlement of Petropavlivska Borshchahivka in the Kyiv region on November 2.

The SSU press service reported this, Censor.NET reports.

Details

According to the case materials, one of those detained is a Kyiv region resident who provoked clashes near a temporary deployment site of the National Guard of Ukraine in exchange for payment.

Investigators established that on October 30, another woman from the Kyiv region commissioned her to take a National Guard service member out of the unit’s deployment site. She was to do so under the guise of providing emergency medical care.

According to investigators, to make it appear that the National Guard service member was being transported to hospital, the suspect posed as a medical professional and used a private vehicle unconnected to any medical institution. She enlisted an acquaintance who agreed to "play the role" of a paramedic for money.

SSU officers said they documented the man conducting additional reconnaissance near the National Guard deployment site ahead of the unrest.

Disseminating information on social media

According to investigators, on November 2, while near the deployment site, the woman spread manipulative information on social media to generate a public outcry and incite unrest. The SSU claims this provoked clashes and obstruction of the lawful activities of the Defence Forces.

Law enforcement officers said that while examining the suspect’s phone, they found correspondence in which she discussed plans for unauthorised actions against Ukrainian defenders.

An active participant in the clashes who called for a National Guard bus to be blocked and damaged was also detained.

Notices of suspicion and pre-trial measures

The woman who commissioned the provocations and two of her accomplices were served notices of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code:

  • Part 1 of Article 114-1: obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period;
  • Part 2 of Article 114-2: unauthorised dissemination of information about the movement, relocation or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations under martial law.

SSU investigators submitted motions to the court seeking to remand the suspects in custody. The service says the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators plan to serve a notice of suspicion on the active participant in the unrest and hold everyone else involved in the provocations accountable. The suspects face up to eight years in prison.
