Key members of criminal group exposed as part of Operation ’Carthage’

The NABU has published a list of the organisers and members of the criminal group exposed as part of Operation ‘Carthage’.
NABU announced this in a video, according to Censor.NET.
What is known?
The group included:
In 2022, a co-organiser known as "Kriminal" demanded $1 million on behalf of the SSU in exchange for not extraditing an individual.
At that time, he already had a criminal record, having been sentenced to 4.5 and 6 years’ imprisonment for robbery, unlawful seizure of a vehicle and hooliganism.
At the same time, he maintained close ties with law enforcement officers who, like him, were born and began their careers in the Zhytomyr region.
According to media reports, "Kriminal" is Andrii Osipov. He is said to be close to senior officials in the SSU.
In recordings made by the NABU, he stated that "a competent person is now in charge of the Service (the SSU – Ed.)."
What led up to this?
- Earlier, NABU reported that a senior SSU official was threatening to use a weapon and obstructing a search.
- Subsequently, the Bureau stated that NABU and the SAPO had exposed a criminal organisation that systematically bribed senior officials of the SSU, the National Police and the Prosecutor’s Office in exchange for ‘protection’ of fraudulent call centres and other illegal businesses.
- NABU stated that a criminal organisation had been exposed, whose members had established a systematic practice of bribing senior officials in law enforcement agencies in exchange for allowing fraudulent call centres and other illegal businesses to operate unhindered.
