Group that supplied Russia with materials for weapons production was uncovered in Poland: six people were detained

Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW) has detained six individuals suspected of illegally supplying Russia with materials used in the production of ammunition and weapons systems. Investigators believe the group was acting on behalf of Russian intelligence services.
This was reported on social media platform X by Tomasz Siemoniak, Poland’s Minister-Coordinator of Special Services, according to Censor.NET.
According to the investigation, the suspects were members of an organized criminal group that acted against Poland and contributed to strengthening the Russian Federation’s military capabilities.
In particular, the group illegally supplied Russia with significant quantities of military-grade materials used in the production of ammunition and weapons systems.
As part of the operation, which lasted from October 21 to November 2, ABW officers conducted searches at 21 locations in the Warmian-Masurian, Pomeranian, and Greater Poland provinces.
A court remanded four of the detainees into custody on charges of espionage. For the other two, the court imposed preventive measures not involving deprivation of liberty.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office in Białystok. Procedural actions are being carried out by officers from the ABW delegation in Olsztyn.
Nearly 100 suspects in espionage and sabotage cases
Siemoniak also reported that, as part of the investigations into espionage and sabotage cases that the ABW has been conducting since January 1, 2024, nearly 100 people have already been designated as suspects.
