Trump met with Dmitriev at White House: There will be "big deal" to end war in Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that on November 5, he met at the White House with Kirill Dmitriev, an envoy of the Kremlin leader, and promised that "there will be a big deal" that will not be limited to the war in Ukraine.

He made these remarks during a briefing in the Oval Office on November 5, according to Censor.NET.

Details of the meeting

According to Trump, he met with Dmitriev but did not disclose what they discussed.

"I can't tell you what we discussed. But I'll just say this: there will be a deal. It will be a big deal, and it won't just involve Ukraine. I could even say that it might encompass all of Europe. It will be a big, wonderful deal, and everyone will be thrilled," the U.S. president said.

When asked if he had met with representatives from Ukraine, Trump replied that he had not.

  • As a reminder, on November 5, representatives from both countries were at the White House for an event honoring First Lady Melania Trump’s role in the ceasefire agreement in Oleshky.

On the war

The journalist also reminded Trump that "Putin is currently killing Ukrainian civilians in their apartments, buses, and schools" and is constantly targeting civilians, and asked if he had raised this issue with Dmitriev. Trump replied:

"I always raise this issue. And I also bring it up with the other side, because they’re killing people on their side, too. You see, a lot of people are dying. Both sides are suffering casualties. They’re losing 25,000 people. 25,000 people. Every month. And I bring it up with both sides.

You know, Russia is also losing civilians. That’s really true. It’s a bloody massacre, and it has to end. And I think we’ll put an end to it pretty soon. Maybe very soon."
