Trump on US elections: "They’re so dishonest – you can’t even imagine!"
US President Donald Trump has criticised the American electoral system and claimed there were widespread irregularities during the vote.
This is according to a statement by the US President at the White House, as quoted by Censor.NET.
Trump mentioned the election in Los Angeles
Whilst speaking to journalists at the White House, Trump discussed the election in Los Angeles and the situation surrounding Spencer Pratt.
According to the US President, he had expected Pratt to reach the final stage of the vote. However, after the additional votes were counted, the results unexpectedly changed.
"I was watching the election in Los Angeles – it was simply a disgraceful spectacle. Everyone – myself included – was convinced that Spencer Pratt would make it to the final. But the contestant who was in the lead – or, let’s say, winning – suddenly burst into tears, saying: ‘Oh my God, I’ve lost, I’ve lost’. But then, out of the blue, the votes needed for her to go through after all turned up," said Trump.
Following this, the US president claimed that the country’s elections were rigged.
"Our elections are so unfair — you can’t even imagine!" he emphasised.
However, Trump did not provide any evidence of fraud during his speech.
Republicans lost ground in the mid-term elections
The president’s statement came after the US mid-term elections, which took place on 3 November.
According to the data cited, the Republican Party suffered a defeat, whilst the Democrats gained control of both houses of Congress.
Trump also acknowledged the impact of the war in Iran on the Republicans’ defeat.
