Zelenskyy discusses preparations for trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi with NB8 partners. VIDEO
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held an online meeting with the leaders of the Nordic and Baltic countries (NB8).
The president reported this on his Telegram channel, according to Censor.NET.
"I thank all our NB8 partners: the Prime Minister of Estonia, the President of Finland, the President of Lithuania, the Prime Minister of Denmark, the Prime Minister of Iceland, the Prime Minister of Latvia, the Prime Minister of Norway and the Prime Minister of Sweden. Your support for Ukraine matters, as does our shared understanding of fundamental issues," Zelenskyy said.
What they discussed
The parties discussed preparations for the trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi.
"There have been many preparatory steps in recent days: a meeting in Brussels involving NATO and the Europeans, my contacts with representatives of the US President, and virtually continuous contact between the negotiating teams. We believe the meeting in the Emirates must deliver results, and we have submitted our proposals for tangible potential outcomes to the American side," the president said.
He stressed that European security issues must be discussed with the participation of European nations, all of which equally deserve guaranteed security.
"I am grateful that you see ending Russia’s war against Ukraine as soon as possible as the top priority of genuine diplomacy," Zelenskyy added.
The president also outlined Ukraine’s needs ahead of this winter: energy and air defense.
"Thank you for your willingness to help. We will continue coordinating and working out the details of strong joint positions. Thank you!" he added.
