A fire is raging in the vicinity of the ‘Proton’ factory in the city of Orel, in the Orel region of the Russian Federation. A missile alert was issued in the region during the night.

Footage published by eyewitnesses shows a large-scale fire in the city. Astra, citing eyewitnesses, reports that the ‘Proton’ factory is on fire in Orel following a missile attack.
The Russian authorities have not yet commented on the fire.

- The "Proton" plant manufactures semiconductor devices, LEDs and electronic components for industry and specialised equipment. Its components are used in Russian weaponry, notably in "Iskander-M" missiles and "Pantsir-S1" systems.
The plant has caught fire on several previous occasions following Ukrainian attacks.
