President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, speaking at a celebration of Defender of Ukraine Day, asked the audience to observe a moment of silence in honor of fallen Ukrainian soldiers.

"2,533 soldiers died defending Ukraine from Russia's aggression. I ask all those present to honor the memory of Ukrainian defenders with a moment of silence," the president said.
