Ministry of Education approves new 12-grade Ukrainian school

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has approved the final concept of the new 12-year Ukrainian school.

"After the public discussion, the new Ukrainian school concept was updated with the notion of 'new educational environment.' The importance of psychological preparation of teachers was also added," the statement reads.

The concept serves as a basis for the so-called political proposal of the government, which, after approval by the Cabinet of Ministers, will become one of the key documents of the government action strategy aimed to reform the secondary education in Ukraine.

New state standards for primary school are to be developed before the end of May. These standards will correlate with pupils' knowledge gained after the completion of each educational stage.
