National Police investigator nabbed accepting $270,000 in bribe, - PGO
The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO), the Security Service (SBU) in Kyiv and the Kyiv region have detained an investigator of one of the central districts of Ukraine's capital and his henchman for bribery.

As noted, PGO and SBU agents apprehended an investigator of the Pechersk district police department who demanded and received through an intermediary undue profit in the amount of more than 270,000 hryvnia ($9,973) from a man for not taking measures to bring him to criminal responsibility.
The malefactors were detained while accepting the second part of undue benefit worth 8,500 euro. The amount of bribery received the day before was 25,000 hryvnia ($924). Their actions fall under part 3 of article 368 (obtaining a large-scale unlawful benefit by an official who occupies a responsible position, by prior conspiracy among a group of persons, connected with extortion) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The perpetrators face penalty in the form of up to 10 years' imprisonment with confiscation of property.
All necessary investigative actions are being carried out to establish the circumstances behind the offence.
