Donbas situation may sharply escalate anytime, OSCE’s Hug says
The OSCE believes that the situation in the Russian-occupied Donbas is far from stable.
As reported by Censor.NET, Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug told Obozrevatel news website on Sunday.According to him, there is a risk that the situation will deteriorate as it is very unstable.
Hug believes in existence of all elements necessary for the escalation of violence.
The monitor says that the warring parties are deployed too close to each other, they have heavy weapons, they are well-trained, and stay on high alert.
As reported, 2,652 Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 9,578 were wounded over three years of fighting in the Donbas.
