Commander of the Air Force of Ukraine Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk said that the second division of the Patriot air defense system has already taken up combat duty.

This is stated by Censor.NЕТ with reference to Telegram channel of Oleshchuk.

"They say there's a ban on the General Staff taking selfies in front of equipment! Sorry, I couldn't resist! The second division of the Patriot air defense system is already in operation! We are strengthening air defense! We are bringing the victory closer," he wrote and posted a photo in front of the SAM.

Partiot systems are particularly important for Ukraine because they can shoot down Russian ballistic missiles. Ukraine has no other means of countering ballistic missiles.
