Today, 20 May, one year after the order to withdraw the Mariupol garrison from Azovstal, a march "Waiting for the heroes of Mariupol to come home" took place in the centre of Kyiv.

This was reported by a Censor.NET correspondent.

The marchers gathered in Taras Shevchenko Park, from where they marched in an organized column to Maidan Nezalezhnosti. Here, relatives and friends of the captured soldiers called on the authorities to facilitate the release of Azovstal's defenders as soon as possible.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, as well as soldiers who had been released from captivity.

At the end of the march, the participants paid tribute to the victims with a minute of silence.

The march was organized by Azov's patronage service.
