The Special Envoy of Pope Francis visited Bucha, Kyiv region.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported in Telegram by the press service of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
"Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the special envoy of Pope Francis, visited Bucha in the Kyiv region," the statement said.
He was accompanied by Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv Regional Military District Administration, and representatives of local authorities.
Ruslan Kravchenko noted that this was the first visit of the Pope's peace envoy to Ukraine, during which he saw with his own eyes the high price Ukrainians pay for freedom and peace in the world.
In particular, the delegation visited the Church of St Andrew the First-Called in Bucha. This is the place where 119 civilians were buried during the occupation.
"Such stories are a pain for the entire civilised world. The Pope's envoy spoke about the massacres of civilians by the Nazis near the Italian city of Bologna. Ukrainians, like no one else, want such terrible crimes against humanity to never happen again," the head of the regional administration stressed.
