The SSU detained an assistant to the People’s Deputy of the banned OPFL, Nestor Shufrych.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SSU press service.

"This offender was responsible for the legal aspects of the fraud. In particular, he was engaged in concluding an agreement with the Russian Guard structures for the protection of elite real estate in Crimea controlled by the People`s Deputy. Thus, in just 3 months, more than half a million Russian rubles were transferred to the accounts of the occupiers. The purpose of the payments was to provide "paramilitary security services" for the People`s Deputy properties on the peninsula," the statement said.

In early February 2024, Shufrych was served with a notice of suspicion of financing the Russian Guard in the occupied Crimea.

The SSU detained Shufrych's business partner and served him a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (financing actions committed with the aim of violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, change of the borders of the territory or state border of Ukraine).

The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The offender faces up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
