Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte discussed ways to end the Russian-Ukrainian war during a meeting in Ankara.
This is stated in the message of the Turkish President's Communications Department, cited by DHA, Censor.NET reports.
"During the meeting, they discussed what can be done to end the Russian-Ukrainian war and the massacre in Palestine, joint steps in the fight against terrorism, Turkey's hosting of the NATO summit in 2026, solidarity between NATO allies and Turkey in the supply of defence industry products, and Turkey's contribution to NATO as an ally," the statement said.
Later, Rutte reported on social media platform X that he had discussed with Erdogan "growing challenges to collective security - including the threat of terrorism, the war in Ukraine and the crisis in the Middle East".
"In an increasingly unpredictable world, Turkey makes an invaluable contribution to NATO," the Alliance Secretary General added.
