Over the past day, Russian troops attacked 30 settlements in the Kherson region. The shelling killed 1 person, wounded 5, and damaged residential buildings and infrastructure. On 17 December, a civilian car was attacked with a drone in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson.

On 16 December, Antonivka, Honcharne, Ingulets, Tomyna Balka, Kizomys, Bilozerka, Beryslav, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, Novoberislav, Poniativka, Havrylivka, Sadove came under enemy fire and air strikes, Tokarivka, Komyshany, Mykhaylivka, Novoraysk, Lviv, Mykolaivka, Monastyrske, Veletynske, Vesele, Tomaryne, Tiahyntsi, Olhivka, Ivanivka, Novovorontsovka, Novotianka, Chornobaivka and the city of Kherson.
"The Russian military hit critical and social infrastructure; residential areas of the region's settlements, in particular, damaged 2 multi-storey buildings and 15 private houses. The occupiers also damaged a gas pipeline and outbuildings.
One person was killed and five others were injured as a result of Russian aggression," Prokudin said.
According to the Kherson police, hostile artillery fire damaged seven private houses, two outbuildings and a critical infrastructure facility in Tomynia Balka, Inhulets, Stanislav and Komyshany.
In the morning, Russian occupants shelled Dniprovskyi district of the regional centre. The shells damaged a private house. During the day, the Russians also attacked residential areas of the district with unmanned aerial vehicles. A 34-year-old man sustained explosive trauma, contusion and concussion as a result of a UAV dropping explosives. The drone attack also damaged a private house and a gas pipeline.
During the day, the Kherson suburb of Antonivka suffered from combined attacks by the Russian military. Two men aged 81 and 82 were injured as a result of artillery shelling. Both men were diagnosed with mine-blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to their lower limbs. The shells damaged a private house there. A 60-year-old local resident also sustained a mine-blast trauma and shrapnel wound to his shin as a result of an enemy drone attack.
The Russian military struck Beryslav with an FPV drone. As a result of the explosion, a 53-year-old shop assistant sustained life-threatening injuries, and another 59-year-old local resident was diagnosed with mine-blast trauma and concussion.
In Bilozerka, artillery fire damaged two private houses, as many as many apartment buildings, and a kindergarten building.
Three private houses in Novoberislav and Havrylivka and an outbuilding in Tokarivka were damaged by enemy UAVs.
