SSU and National Police detain 5 dealers who wanted to set up trade of "trophy" weapons of occupiers. PHOTOS

The SSU and the National Police uncovered attempts to illegally sell weapons in Zhytomyr, Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions.

This was reported by the press service of the SSU, Censor.NET informs.

During the special operation, five people involved in the organisation of the clandestine trade of munitions were detained red-handed.

Zhytomyr region:

Two local residents were detained who were smuggling "trophy" weapons from Donetsk region.

Among them is a 41-year-old repeat offender previously convicted of similar crimes.

Over 1 kg of explosives, RGD-5 and F-1 grenades, and over 500 rounds of ammunition were found in the cache in the garage.

Cherkasy region:

A 30-year-old deserter who stole weapons from a military unit has been identified.

A Kalashnikov rifle with ammunition, silencers and grenades hidden in his parents' house were seized from him.

Kirovohrad region:

Two deserters were detained who were trying to sell 5 anti-tank grenade launchers, 11 F-1 grenades, a machine gun, two combat pistols, an anti-personnel mine and explosives.

The detainees were served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons), which provides for up to 7 years in prison.

The special operation was conducted by the SSU, the National Police and the Prosecutor's Office under the procedural supervision of the Zhytomyr and Smila District Prosecutor's Offices and the Kropyvnytskyi Specialised Prosecutor's Office.
