They paid $15 thousand for boat across Tisza: 6 men detained near border in Zakarpattia - SBGS. PHOTO

In Zakarpattia, border guards detained six men who had paid at least $15,000 to 'smugglers' to illegally cross the Tisza River into Hungary.

This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service, Censor.NET reports.

It is noted that the smugglers, to whom each of the offenders gave at least USD 15 thousand, encouraged the men to cross the Tisa River. Having provided their "clients" with a rubber boat, the dealers sent them on a risky "swim".

"The 'boatmen' were stopped by a border patrol 20 metres from the state border. Three of the men, ignoring the lawful demands of the servicemen, tried to escape, and were stopped by a sniffer dog," the SBGS said.

Law enforcement officers drew up administrative reports against the detainees for attempting to illegally cross the border and for malicious disobedience to the border service.

The persons who organised the illegal scheme of men's trafficking to Hungary are currently being identified.
