Russian attack on Kyiv on 1 January: building of National Union of Writers of Ukraine damaged

As a result of the Russian attack on 1 January in Kyiv, a historical and architectural monument, the building of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, was damaged.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, Yurii Doroshenko.

"A monument of history and architecture - the building of our National Union of Writers of Ukraine - was damaged by the shelling of the Muscovites... Russian barbarians and inhumans!" Doroshenko wrote.

According to him, at one time, frontline writers Andrii Malyshko, Volodymyr Sosiura, Oles Honchar, Pavlo Zahrebelnyi and others who fought against Nazism on the frontlines of World War II worked in the building.

"Now the Writers' House has been destroyed by criminal ruscism. But Putin's Russia will have to answer for everything, as it happened to Hitler's Germany!" Doroshenko added.

As a reminder, on the morning of 1 January, Kyiv was attacked by enemy drones. The wreckage fell in two districts.

Enemy drones hit a residential building: two people were killed. 6 injured, including two pregnant women. The rescue operation was carried out in difficult conditions as stairwells collapsed.

The attack killed prominent neurobiologist Ihor Zyma and his wife, scientist Olesia Sokur.
