Cyberpolice officers of Dnipro city jointly with detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine exposed a deputy director of a utility company who entered into contracts for the purchase of radio equipment at prices significantly higher than market prices.
This was reported by the National Police, Censor.NET informs.
This happened as part of the implementation of the "Programme for Promoting the Territorial Defence of the City for 2022-2026".
As noted, the investigation found that the utility company made six purchases of equipment sets worth almost UAH 35 million. According to the experts, the cost of these goods was overstated by UAH 9.2 million compared to average market prices.
The deputy director of the municipal enterprise was served a notice of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 191 (Misappropriation, embezzlement or seizure of property through abuse of office) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for 7 to 12 years with disqualification to hold certain positions and confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
